Though this co-ed folk duo's album was released in 1980, the back cover lists dates next to each song, and those dates range from 1969 to 1979. There's no way of knowing if the dates refer to the year the songs were written or the year they were recorded, but the sparse arrangements (acoustic guitar, some congas, some flute) and unfettered production certainly don't scream out "1980." The album is heartfelt and energetic,  they also have a very 70s hippie aura to them.

One of the most astonishing British private pressing rarities, only two copies have surfaced of this 1970 concept album. Telling the story of a woman's life from her own conception to giving birth, the LP was put together by a variety of musicians at a social club, and allegedly includes an uncredited appearance by Billy Fury. Linked by narration and sound effects, the music runs the gamut from heavy space-rock jamming (including a snatch of 'Interstellar Overdrive') to folk-rock (an acoustic cover of 'Light My Fire' & a stunning version of 'Watch The Stars') avant-garde choirs, krautrock-styled interludes and even trad jazz. The result is among the trippiest albums I have ever heard, comparable only to Jumble Lane in terms of eccentricity, although the music is infinitely better, with a strong Pink Floyd spacy edge. "Age Of Time" is his third album released right after the first album called "200 Years" and the second called "North by North West" in 1970. The vocals are mostly big and booming with plenty of echo, the songs are great, the lyrics interesting (mostly about the Australian outback and people), the backing a peculiar mix of folk, early rock'n'roll, psychedelia, country and pop, with some songs featuring scorching acid guitar and studio effects. The closest reference point would be Lee Hazlewood's solo LPs ....

The Underground Failure album is best known for showing the unusual talent of John Holm for the first time. Lasse Ermalm became a record cover designer on many a label's payrolls, and Stefan Wermelin later on became one of Sweden's most prominent radio producers.

A startlingly great mid 70s loner folk record by Scott Key – with some of the finest, most artful fingerstyle guitar we've heard on a self-recorded album from the period – and a really strong record that would be right at home on the Takoma label! Recorded in Colorado by Key himself, who plays acoustic guitar and bottleneck slide on songs that reveal a masterful acoustic guitar player, as well as creative ear for drones and post-psych effects. Occasionally has vocals, but it's a largely instrumental effort – and a brilliant one!
