One of the most mythical and sought-after albums to come out Japan in the 1970’s! Gekidan Buraiha was a theater company, a part of the so-called Angura scene that included notable troupes such as Tenjō Sajiki, led by Shūji Terayama; Jōkyō Gekijo, led by Jūrō Kara, Black Tent Theater (originally known as Theater Center 68), led by Makoto Satō; and Waseda Little Theater, led by Tadashi Suzuki.

A wonderful private press album from this teen-ager (Springfield, Illinois). The original compositions included in “A Summer” musically portray the story of a poignant teen-age summer in a language teen-agers understand, as composed and arranged by Rich Howe, an engineering student at the University of Illinois, whose guitar and tenor voice combine to produce the unique “Rich” sound.

Lonely melodic private press 1973 USA album. The recording session took eleven hours and there were no second takes. Low-fi crude sound with vocals, some solo tracks, some with further instrumentation. Its from a folk-blues tradition but sometimes sounds a bit like 70s singer-songwriter stuff by a 19-year-old who couldnt afford to hire a band.

Hailed from Araluen, Australia, Roger Thwaites is a country folk singer released five albums. "Age Of Time" is his third album released right after the first album called "200 Years" and the second called "North by North West" in 1970. The vocals are mostly big and booming with plenty of echo, the songs are great, the lyrics interesting (mostly about the Australian outback and people), the backing a peculiar mix of folk, early rock'n'roll, psychedelia, country and pop, with some songs featuring scorching acid guitar and studio effects. The closest reference point would be Lee Hazlewood's solo LPs ....

This album saw the estimable Mark Spoelstra falling in line and delivering an LP in the vein of those landmark, first wave country-folk-rock albums that swept away whatever was left of the 'classic' American folk scene in the late 60s. A solid cast of familiar Nashville sessioneers are of course present here and the listener is treated to a very nice set that sits astride the more traditional approach of those folkies who rolled with the 'sound'. This sits nicely next to your Beau Brummels, Larry Murray, Everlys and Bob of course.

Real Name:Win Schell ... He played the southwestern Ontario folk circuit in the late 1960s and early 70s. His two albums never became best-sellers, but they maintained enough of a following to make the leap to the digital world and on the want list of many record collectors who seek out original vinyl pressings of his first 2 albums. The second album, 1976's City Wilderness, features more conventional folk. It's easily recognized by its cover, a Robert Crumb-influenced drawing of downtown London, Ontario with Win and various real-life city characters transformed into cartoon animals. Roger Baker, a friend of Win's, created the image.

Well known for his participation as a guitarist on Bob Dylan’s “Blood On The Tracks” 1974 Minnesota recording sessions. Kevin Odegard has released two albums; The self-titled Kevin Odegard on Wooff (1971) and Silver Lining on ASI Records (1975). Silver Lining is a well polished album compared to his debut album. Widely influenced by country, folk and pop music of the 1970’s, Silver Lining is a fine example resembling mid 1970’s singer-songwriter music. It is supported by the famous Bob Rivkin (Bobby 'Z') and David Rivkin with a production credit by David Zimmerman.

Phoenix Sonshine - Backing Band

Hank Quinn - Congas

David Diggs - Drums (tracks: A1, B1)

Rick Staff - Flute

Kerry Chester - Organ

Mike Bacciarini - Pedal Steel Guitar (tracks: A1, B1)

Even better follow-up with five different bands. Of particular interest are the songs from Kemper Crabb’s pre-Arkangel folkrock outfit Redemption: ‘Liberation Song’ and ‘Anti-Satan Boogie’. Likewise Hallelujah and Master/Peace both shine with that same guy/gal electric folkrock that typified the times. Icthus Team does better than expected for being a 30-member ensemble. And Evan Williams of Harvest Flight (the ever-present man on this label) has a couple ballads heightened by his trademark psychy ambience. Excellent cover art of ship at sea depicted in blue and maroon with psychy lettering. (Ken Scott - Archivist)

Richard Davis, Terry Plumeri - Bass

Toots Thielemans - Guitar, Harmonica

Don Cooper was a promising folk-style singer/songwriter who enjoyed some modest success -- mostly on-stage -- during the early '70s. Coming up as he did amid the singer/songwriter boom of the era -- dominated by the likes of James Taylor, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, and Loudon Wainwright III -- he got lost in the shuffle, perhaps because he was signed to a label (Roulette) that was positioned badly, in terms of image and distribution, to break an artist working in his particular genre. This album is his debut, and he would go on to release a couple more ....

Jaime Brockett had achieved popularity on the Boston folk circuit before recording Remember the Wind and the Rain, which was initially issued on the small Oracle label before getting picked up by Capitol for wider distribution. It was a simple production, and a folk album, rather than a folk-rock one. The arrangements featured only Brockett's vocals, six-string guitar, twelve-string guitar, and dulcimer .....

Published in a limited edition of 500-1000 copies (only around 100 copies with covers survived) with a cover by a very young Doug Bane, it is the only LP by Bill Stone, a singer-songwriter essentially known in those years only in Maine, the region where he was originally from and where the small label was based (the Omni Recording Company) who released the album. Recorded with the production of Jeffrey Weinstein, the album strikes us in its great simplicity for the direct and sensitive, even enveloping way in which Bill tells us his songs.
