The English jazz , folk and blues musician mr.Ray Austin grew up as the son of a teacher in Halifax , Yorkshire . After completing his education he worked as a caramel salesman at Jon's Toffee , after which he served in the British Army . After attending McMillan College of Education , he taught English and Art in an English school. In 1970 he came to Freiburg im Breisgau and received his degree there at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universitya teaching position for "Modern English", but since 1973 he has devoted himself exclusively to music. From 1972 to 1977 he toured as a musician.
